Book of Order
& Book of Confessions for the PCUSA Church
The Constitution of the PC(U.S.A.) consists of several parts.
The first volume is the Book of Confessions, the second (consisting
of the Form of Government, Directory for Worship, and Rules of
Discipline) is called the Book of Order.
Office of the General Assembly
The Office of the General Assembly is the ecclesiastical arm
of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). Under the leadership of Stated
Clerk Clifton Kirkpatrick, the OGA staff carries out the directives
assigned to the Clerk by the General Assembly, the denomination's
highest governing body.
The Synod of Southern
California and Hawaii
This Synod is one of the sixteen regional governing bodies and
administrative units of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). It is
a partnership of its eight presbyteries located within the southern
third of the State of California and all of the State of Hawaii.
The Presbytery of San Fernando
The Presbytery of San Fernando, a middle governing body of the
Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), is comprised of 31 churches and
4 new church developments in the northwest corner of Los Angeles
County. It includes heavily urbanized communities, suburban communities
and rural areas, and is extremely diverse in both its racial/ethnic
and socio-economic makeup.

The seal of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)is a symbolic statement
of the church's heritage, identity, and mission in contemporary
form. Its power depends on both its simplicity and complexity,
as well as its traditional and enduring qualities.
PCUSA Research Services
Help congregations conduct self-studies and church improvement
projects; Assists the General Assembly in using research to attain
its goals; and provides information and analysis for planning
and evaluating the needs of the church.
